Is Love Bliss, or is that Ignorance?
Disclaimer: I don't own Beyblade
“Yo! (Your first name)!” You hear a voice call out to you. You whirl around as you see a wavy blonde haired boy – Enrique – waving at you.
“Hello Enrique,” You reply, your voice is cheery. At first glance you are seen as the shy type – you aren’t shy, you’re just not very outgoing. One thing that people quickly learn about you is that you have a temper. A big one. Enrique had learned this lesson the other day when he had upset you by – well let’s just say he didn’t flirt with you anymore. “Where are the others?” You ask him, referring to the rest of the Majestics.
You aren’t on their team and you don’t beyblade, but you are still good friends with them. In fact the reason you know them is because your best friend is on the team. Johnny McGregor. You’re both known for your tempers and disliking chess. Don’t get me wrong, unlike Johnny, your not half bad and have beaten Robert several times, but you find the game boring.
Right now you are standing in the middle of the town square in Rome, Italy. You are from Glasgow, Scotland, as you grew up there with Johnny, but moved when you were ten years old to Rome. As of now, at fourteen your English accent is still strong. Although you are from Scotland, you were originally born in London, England and moved to Scotland when you were five. You don’t consider England your home country though, for certain reasons unknown to the rest of your friends.
“They said they’d meet us at the Café on 104th street.” Enrique answers you grinning.
“This isn’t another attempt to get a date out of me is it? Or do you just want to get the girls off you back?” You grin at the thought – Enrique the flirt didn’t want girls following him around today. Ah, this was great blackmail!
“The second one. I’ve learned my lesson!” Enrique grins back as you run up to him and you both start walking.
“Nice to know.” You reply as you try to think of a fresh topic for conversation. “So what are we all going to do today? Is Robert showing up?” Robert wasn’t much for group outings, you other four did some really uncouth things, so sometimes he’d show up, sometimes he wouldn’t. It was nice that he let you all know before hand if he was coming or not though.
“I’m not really sure, (nickname or a shortened version of your first name), that’s what we told Robert and he said he’d rather not waste his time on a most likely uncouth idea. So, no, Robert isn’t showing.” Enrique answers you.
“Oh, poor Johnny won’t get a chance to get beaten at chess…” You trail off grinning like a Cheshire cat, and Enrique laughs, soon you are both standing in front of the Café otherwise known as The Stella D'argento [Silver Star] Café. You then spot the rest of your friends at a table – well minus Robert of course.
“Bonjour!” Oliver waves at you and Enrique. You can’t help but smile at him, Oliver has been your crush since you met him. He is the exact opposite of Johnny: patient, kind and graceful (as weird as that sounds it is true), not to mention his French accent is very cute!
Enrique gives you a weird stare and leads you to the table. As you all sit down you notice Johnny doesn’t look at all happy. “What’s wrong, lose at chess again?” You joke to him, obviously trying to brighten his spirits; unfortunately he doesn’t take the hint.
“No.” He answers sullenly.
“What then?” You ask him as you turn to Oliver. “Any idea what’s wrong with him?”
“Sorry, I don’t know.” He shakes his head, “He was fine before you two got here…”
“Right then.” You reply, let him be grumpy, I’ll figure out what’s wrong with him later – I know it’s got something to do with me. “So what are we planning on doing today anyways? You guys discuss it; I’m going to get a Chai Latte.” You inform them as you get up from the table and walk into the café (you guys are sitting on the front deck outside) and up to front counter.
“Good morning Miss, can I help you?” A balding man asks, he reminds you of Enrique’s butler.
“Yes, you can. May I please have a small Chai Latte [1], fat free?” You ask politely while smiling.
“Of course, that will be $3.47, Miss.” He answers as he fetches your latte.
“Here you are.” You reply handing him five dollars. “Keep the change.”
“Thank you Miss.” He replies as you grab your latte off the counter and walk out of the building and back onto the deck.
“Your back, that was quick.” Enrique’s voice greets you.
“Yeah there wasn’t a line up for once!” You answer happily.
“Hey (your first name),” Johnny’s voice sounds less cold than before you had left and it holds an apologetic tone to it as well.
“Well someone’s feeling better,” You smile. “So did you guys decide what we’re gonna do today?”
“Not really, we wanted your opinion.” Oliver replies.
“Oh, okay, hmm, what are my options?” You ask your friends grinning.
“Well, we could A) Visit Robert and annoy him. B) Go to Paris and do something there. Or C) Um…what was C)?” Enrique grins goofily at Oliver and Johnny.
You sigh, “Or C) we could stick around here and goof off!”
“You really want to? We do that everyday (your first name)!” Enrique complains. It was true, you did do that everyday, well not every day but a lot of the time…well which should you pick?
“Why don’t we vote on it?” You suggest. “I’ll vote for both A) and B) since Robert isn’t here.”<br>
“We both know which one is going to win.” Johnny states. You knew he was going to vote for A) just to get Robert back for beating him at chess all the time.
“Alright never mind then, let’s go to Paris! I haven’t been there in awhile!” You say as you stand up and walk over to a garbage can to throw away your now empty Styrofoam cup.
When you get back everyone else stands up as Johnny throws you a ‘what the heck?’ look. He knew that you would rather bug Robert than go to Paris any day, what he didn’t know was that you liked Oliver and if he ever found out you’d never hear the end of the teasing.
“So, what exactly are we gonna do in Paris, (your first name)?” Johnny asks you.
“I want to visit the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre!” You exclaim excitedly. You loved being at the very top of the Eiffel Tower and looking down over the city. It was relaxing and it was even nicer if a breeze was blowing. You weren’t much for paintings, at least the ones that looked like the designs on your mother’s kitchen floor, but didn’t mind the ones that were of actual things. In fact those were the only ones you could appreciate; you didn’t understand how Oliver could look at any painting and understand it. Note to self: ask Oliver about that later today. Besides if you were going to go to Paris you couldn’t very well miss one of the main attractions now could you?
“Alright then, (your first name) liking art…does not compute!” Enrique comments.
“I don’t like all of it – only the ones that are of actual things…” You trail off.
“Well let’s get going.” Oliver jumps in as you all head towards – wait a minute how are we going to get there? You weren’t fond of public airlines to say the least.
“Um…guys? How are we going to get there? Please don’t say public airlines!” You plead as Johnny throws an arm around your shoulder.
“Public airlines, (your first name), public airlines.” Johnny snickers and you groan.
“Why does my best friend have to be so annoying? He’s going to drive me insane one of these days.” You question more to yourself than to anyone else but Johnny answers anyways.
